Red Apple Cozy with Wooden Button

This Autumn has brought us many sweet apples and I decided to make some apple cozies for them. Apple cozies are easy to make.. All you need is yarn, needle and button. I like to use two colors of yarn, to give a cozy little contrast :) (red and green work perfectly together).

How to make apple cozy:

First you make a magic ring. I used crochet hook number 4.
1.) 12 DC into magic ring
2.) 24 DC (2xDC into each previous stitch)
3.) 36 DC (*2xDC, 1xDC* )
4.) 48 DC (*2xDC, 1xDC,1xDC*)
5.,6.,7.) 48 DC (into each previous stitch)
8.) 42 DC (you make 6 DEC stitches every 8 stitch)
9.) 40 DC (you make 2 DEC stitches in 20 stitch and at the end)
10.) 38 DC (you make 2 DEC stitches in 20 stitch and at the end)
11.) You end your cozy with one row of SC stitches (38 SC) into each previous stitch. I use different color yarn. Don't forget to make at some point of this last line 15 CH for your button! All you have to do is to saw in your button.

Legend:
* - repeat  |   SS - slip stitch  |  SC - single crochet  |  DC - double crochet  |  DEC - decrease stitch

If you like it and have no time to make it, you can BUY it here (Crochet).
